First Visit
Your first visit to Rintel Oral Surgery marks the beginning of a treatment journey designed specifically for you.

Dr. Rintel values taking the time to understand your individual needs and concerns so that every step—from diagnosis to recovery—is clear and comfortable.
What Happens at Your Initial Consultation?
When you arrive, we’ll start with a thorough review of your medical and dental history. Dr. Rintel will personally discuss your diagnosis, walk you through the treatment options available, and answer any questions you may have. We want you to feel fully informed and confident about the path forward.
In some cases, if your health and treatment plan allow, we may be able to perform the surgery on the same day as your consultation.
However, if your medical history is complex or if additional planning is needed, we will schedule your procedure for a later date to ensure high-quality, safe care.
Preparing for Your Visit
To make the most of your time with us, please complete our Online Registration Form before your appointment. This helps us gather important details about your health and streamlines your check-in process.
When you come in, please bring the following with you:
- Your referral slip from your dentist or physician.
- A complete list of medications you are currently taking, including vitamins and supplements.
- Your insurance information and completed forms, if applicable. This allows us to assist you with billing and claims right away.
If you are under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must accompany you during your consultation.

Important Notes for Patients Undergoing IV General Anesthesia
If your procedure includes intravenous sedation, we’ll schedule a detailed consultation beforehand to make sure everything is in place for a safe and smooth experience.
For your safety, please don’t eat or drink anything for at least six hours before your surgery. Afterward, you’ll need a trusted adult to drive you home and stay with you while you rest and recover.
Tell Us About Your Health
Please be sure to inform us if you have any significant medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart valve replacements, or joint implants.
Also, let us know if you take medications like blood thinners or bisphosphonates. This information helps Dr. Rintel tailor your care and avoid any risks.
X-Rays and Imaging
If your referring provider has x-rays or scans, please ask them to send those to our office before your visit. If that’s not possible, bring physical copies with you.
We have advanced imaging technology in-house to capture any additional images needed for a thorough evaluation.
